Introduction.

Welcome to my A2 Media Studies Advanced Portfolio. My chosen brief for this project was to create a short film, with two ancillary products, which include a poster and a magazine review page featuring my film. From this I chose to create a short documentary film, about the use of social media during the London 2012 Olympic Games. My film is entitled - London 2012  #thesocialgames.

On this blog you will find posts tracking and documenting my process throughout the research, planning, production and evaluation stages of the project. These will of course be followed by my final products. Each post has been allocated a label with either 'research', 'production, 'planning', or 'evaluation', so should be easy to situate within the blog. These labels can be found in the bottom left corner of each post.

Twitter account.

I previously discussed how I wished the '#' within my film title to enable an audience to discuss it via the popular social networking sight Twitter. After some consideration, I came to the conclusion that I should actively use this (and other) social networking site to give further market my documentary. With social media being so prevalent now, I thoroughly believe that an online presence is crucial to any marketing campaign, so it would be foolish to deprive my documentary of this opportunity.

The prevalence of Twitter is explained in the infographic below, which provides the latest Twitter facts and figures, and was only posted last month so is extremely current and relevant. http://wallblog.co.uk/2012/11/13/twitter-the-latest-facts-and-figures-infographic/ .
